Julia Johnson-Viola is an accomplished book editor with extensive experience in the publishing industry that spans several positions and genres. After graduating from Emerson College with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Writing, Literature, and Publishing with a focus on literary nonfiction, Julia worked as an editor with Penguin Young Readers Group, shepherding projects for legendary and award-winning authors including Ruta Sepetys, Eric Carle, and Oliver Jeffers. She then joined ICM Partners as an assistant agent and editorial consultant, working with renowned NYT bestselling and National Book Award nominated clients such as Candace Bushnell, Ben Fountain, and Patricia McCormick, among others. From there, Julia found a home with Rodale Books, where she edited a variety of prescriptive nonfiction titles and pursued content expansion in the realms of magazines and television.

After taking a short break from traditional publishing to travel and bolster her editing skills in a freelance capacity, Julia now works with KAA as Senior Editor, dedicated to genuine collaboration with her clients, including step-by-step guidance toward the best possible outcome for every project.
