Nicole is a prolific writer whose Emmy-Award winning work in broadcasting has influenced her storytelling as an author for both print and the screen. Nicole’s credits as a creator, producer, and writer include work that’s been featured on Sundance Channel, Showtime, Nickelodeon, IFC, and BET.
Nicole has worked in the national newsrooms of all three major networks while simultaneously pursuing in-depth fieldwork as an independent documentarian, garnering numerous festival awards and grant awards from The Jerome Foundation, New York Women in Film & Television and Foundation to Promote Open Society/Campaign for Black Male Achievement. Nicole pursues the humanity behind real-life archetypes in order to uncover and author a compelling story.
Nicole continues to be recognized for changing the narrative when it comes to stories featuring communities of color in the United States and indigenous communities in the U.S. and abroad. Her distinctive research and interviewing style often result in extraordinary access to the innermost revelations from real-life characters.
Nicole’s professional affiliations include Directors Guild of America (DGA), Producers Guild of America (PGA East), The National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ), The Black Documentary Collective (BDC) and New York Women in Film & Television (NYWIFT).
